These trusted principles symbolize the transformative leadership needed in the world, especially in times of uncertainty and upheaval. These programs are a holistic experience that explores all of what makes you unique, valuable and impactful as a leader. It is not just another “one-size-fits-all” leadership template—it’s a personalized, transformational growth experience that allows you to find and embody your own authentic leadership style.

What is ATHENA International?

ATHENA International is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to building a global pipeline of women leaders from the classroom to the boardroom who will create a balance in voices of leadership worldwide. Founded in 1982 by Martha Mayhood Mertz, ATHENA International develops, supports and honors women and girls through programs based on the eight principles of the ATHENA Leadership Model, developed with the Center for Creative Leadership through research funded by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. Being ATHENA Leadership development delivers quantifiable outcomes for women in middle and high schools, colleges, corporations, professional organizations ad prisons. ATHENA Powerlink advisory boards support entrepreneurs to grow their businesses and impact the economy, Outstanding leader are honored with global, national, and regional ATHENA Leadership Awards ATHENA International partners with hundreds of chambers of commences, colleges and universities, corporations, women's organizations and affiliate communities in 48 states and 11 countries. Almost 8,000 leaders including a Supreme Court Justice, Olympic Medalist, Secretary of State, NASA Astronaut, social justice advocate, and CEOs of major corporations have been recognized with the ATHENA Leadership Award in 500 plus regions.
